Info Day for Phase II of the National Space Program HELLAS SPACE 2.0

With the participation of more than 300 representatives from over 100 companies, research centers, and organizations from Greece and abroad, the Info Day for Phase II of the National Space Program HELLAS SPACE 2.0, the largest national investment in the space sector to date, with a total budget of 350 million euros, took place.

The event was opened by the Minister of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence, Dimitris Papastergiou, while the overall picture, goals, and priorities of the program were presented by Konstantinos Karantzalos, General Secretary of Telecommunications and Post, and the President of the Hellenic Space Center, Emmanouil Rammos.

From the European Space Agency (ESA), Dominique Gilliéron, Svein Lokas, Frederic Rouesnel, Tiago Soares, and Vasileios Angelopoulos participated, while from ELKED, Nikos Sergis, Dimitris Bliziotis, Dimitris Christopoulos, and Manolis Mylonakis. Together with officials from the General Secretariat of Telecommunications and Post, they presented in detail the individual components of the program and the new opportunities it creates.

HELLAS SPACE 2.0 expands the country's activity across the entire value chain of Space: from national space infrastructures and critical technologies to new applications, research, the development of specialized human resources, and the enhancement of a competitive and outward-looking Greek space industry.

The large participation in the Info Day highlights the strong interest of the Greek and international space community in the collaboration, research, and development opportunities created by the new phase of the Greek space program.
