Structure of the New National Space Program (HELLAS-SPACE 2.0)

The Ministry of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence, the General Secretariat of Telecommunications and Post, and the Hellenic Space Center present the structure of the new National Space Program, which is a key pillar of the National Strategy for the development of the country's space ecosystem.

Utilizing the experience and results of the National Microsatellite Program, the new program significantly expands Greece's scope of action, covering more comprehensively the value chain of the space sector: from space infrastructures and critical technologies to applications, innovation, research, and human resource development.

The program aims to:

  • strengthen national space infrastructures and the country's strategic capabilities,
  • develop a competitive and outward-looking Greek space industry,
  • leverage space technologies to address challenges related to the environment, civil protection, security, and the economy,
  • enhance collaboration between the public sector, universities, research institutions, businesses, and international partners,

With a budget of 350 million euros, the new program represents the largest national investment made to date in the space sector and aspires to make Greece a strong and reliable partner in the European and international space ecosystem.
