Konstantinos Karantzalos, Secretary General of Telecommunications and Post, participated in the event "Greece in Orbit," where the first comprehensive National Space Plan and the new National Space Program HELLAS-SPACE 2.0, worth 350 million euros, were presented.
Speakers at the event included Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Minister of Digital Governance and Artificial Intelligence Dimitris Papastergiou, Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance Nikos Papathanasis, Greek astronaut candidate Adrianos Golemis, ESA Director General Josef Aschbacher, Katerina Kavvada, Director at the Directorate-General for Defense, Industry and Space of the European Commission, as well as representatives of the Hellenic Space Center and the Greek space ecosystem.
Mr. Karantzalos presented the progress the country has made in the field of space technologies and coordinated the panel "Greece and Europe – The Next Day of the Space Ecosystem," with the participation of leading representatives of the European space community.
The event highlighted Greece's transition from participating in the European space effort to shaping a comprehensive national strategy for Space, aiming for innovation, resilience, and technological autonomy of the country.
