At MWC Barcelona 2026, one of the most important international forums for digital technologies and telecommunications, Greece is once again present with a structured plan and a strong footprint.
The General Secretariat of Telecommunications and Post is actively participating, with the General Secretary, Mr. Konstantinos Karantzalos, in the European dialogue on the future of digital networks. The agenda focuses on the major strategic decisions that will shape the resilience, security, and competitiveness of electronic communications in Europe, as well as the creation of a truly unified digital market.
At the same time, we highlight the responsibilities that accompany the deployment of advanced technologies – from Artificial Intelligence to next‑generation infrastructures. We place particular emphasis on:
• protecting minors in the digital environment and addressing platform-related addiction,
• combating misinformation and deepfakes,
• ensuring the integrity of networks and critical infrastructures,
• facilitating the smooth adaptation of the workforce to new digital conditions.
On the sidelines of the exhibition, bilateral meetings are being held with European partners and institutional stakeholders, aiming at better policy coordination and the promotion of joint initiatives at both national and European levels.
The strong presence of the Greek delegation, with dozens of innovative companies in the sector, demonstrates that the domestic telecommunications and digital technology ecosystem can confidently stand on the international stage, build partnerships, and seize emerging opportunities across Europe and beyond.
Technological progress must go hand in hand with institutional responsibility, regulatory adequacy, and European cooperation. As the General Secretariat of Telecommunications and Post, we work consistently to ensure that the transition to the new digital era is achieved with security, resilience, and social cohesion, for the benefit of citizens and businesses.
