The HSTR program concerns the construction of the Hellenic Space Debris Tracking Radar on Hymettus. The project started in 2023 and has completed the initial and final design phases. The goal is to monitor space debris in low Earth orbit (LEO), enhancing the safety of satellite operations and the protection of critical infrastructure. The project is expected to be completed in 2026.

A visit was made by the European Commission's Commissioner for Defense and Space, Mr. Andrius Kubilius, to the facilities in Agia Paraskevi where the Greek GOVSATCOM Hub will be developed, accompanied by the Minister of Digital Governance Mr. Dimitris Papastergiou, the General Secretary of Telecommunications and Post Mr. Konstantinos Karantzalos, the Deputy Chief of the Hellenic National Defense General Staff Vice Admiral Mr. Mikropoulos, and the Deputy Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff Vice Admiral Mr. S.
