Single Point of Information - Central Data Portal

The Single Information Point is part of Article 151 of Law 4727/2020 as a central hub to facilitate electronic communications network providers in exercising their rights of way. It is a key tool for implementing the legislative framework that regulates rights of way for public electronic communications network providers in Greece. This article incorporates into Greek law Article 43 of Directive (EU) 2018/1972 (European Electronic Communications Code).

According to Article 151, providers have the right to install, maintain, and operate the necessary infrastructure (such as cables and antennas) on, under, or over spaces belonging to the State, Local Government Organizations (LGOs), or other public law entities, as well as in public spaces. The aim is to facilitate the rapid development of networks, particularly 5G and fiber optic networks, to promote competition, and to ensure public safety.

In this context, the Single Information Point (S.I.P.) operates as a web portal maintained by the Ministry of Digital Governance, with the main goal of providing all necessary information to providers regarding the procedures and conditions for granting rights of way.

The Single Information Point is interconnected and interoperates with the "e-Dieleusis" information system, through which the single-point application submission process is implemented, thus simplifying licensing. It is also connected to the "Broadband Map and Network Registry" (B.M.N.R.), providing a comprehensive view of existing and planned infrastructure.

The operation of the S.I.P. aims to simplify, accelerate, and increase the transparency of procedures, reducing bureaucracy and the cost of developing telecommunications infrastructure.
