The General Secretariat of Telecommunications and Post is advancing the development of comprehensive national strategies for the Internet of Things (IoT) and Unmanned Vehicles (UV). The goal is to establish a clear and coherent framework for the safe, responsible, and regulated integration of these technologies in Greece, to create a favorable environment for their development and use, and to support the creation of a competitive and innovative industry around cutting-edge technologies.
These strategies aim to maximize benefits for society, the economy, and the public sector, while enhancing the security, sustainability, and technological progress of the country.
The two strategies follow a multifaceted approach that includes:
- Regulatory framework: Development of a comprehensive set of regulations and guidelines for the safe and responsible use of technologies.
- Research and development: Encouragement of the development of cutting-edge technologies through research grants and funding programs.
- Industry development: Support for small and medium-sized enterprises and encouragement of investments in the sector.
- International cooperation: Collaboration with international partners for the exchange of best practices and technical expertise.
