Broadband Map & Network Registry (BMNR)

In the context of enhancing transparency and the digital transformation of communication infrastructures, the Information System "Broadband Map and Network Registry" (BMNR) operates, according to Ministerial Decision No. 5847 EX 2023 (Government Gazette 953 B’).

The BMNR provides authorized users with access to critical information regarding the country's telecommunications infrastructures, such as network coverages, routes, and installation points. Access varies depending on the user's role, through a Public Map and a Protected Map, ensuring a balance between transparency and the protection of sensitive data.

Access rights to the system are granted to entities that issue rights of way permits (e.g., Municipalities), Telecommunications and other network Providers, who submit their telecommunications network data. Users belonging to the General Secretariat of Telecommunications and Post and the Hellenic Telecommunications and Post Commission (EETT) have full access to the system and the following information submitted annually (or more frequently) by the Providers:

  • Installation points (INSTALLATION): copper and fiber optic cable distributors, aerial cable suspension bases, antenna system installations, etc.
  • Connections (LINK): ducts, cables, fixed service radio frequency wireless connections, as well as submarine connections.
  • Network coverages (COVERAGE): coverage areas of copper wired networks and coverage points of FTTH or coaxial cable networks.
  • Broadband service offering areas (SERVICE OFFERING): both for wired technologies (geographical area or coverage point) and for wireless technologies (coverage grid cells).

The BMNR is a strategic tool for the planning and development of modern telecommunications infrastructures, enhancing transparency, coordination, and the effectiveness of the involved entities.
