The Earth Observation program offers Greece access to high-precision satellite data for environmental monitoring, disaster response, and climate change through the development of National satellites.
It includes the Thermal Space Segment with four satellites equipped with thermal cameras for monitoring fires, soil temperatures, waters, and urban heat islands, the SAR Space Segment with two radar satellites for imaging regardless of weather or lighting conditions, as well as the optical constellation with seven satellites that have multispectral and hyperspectral cameras and IoT & AIS payloads. The program is completed with the government hub (HUB) and value-added services (downstream), which constitute a geoinformation system for the collection, processing, and distribution of data to the public and private sectors for agriculture, forest monitoring, water, natural disasters, and citizen safety.
