Public Networks - Infrastructure for the Public Sector

The General Secretariat of Telecommunications and Post is responsible for the design, development, and oversight of the state networks that form the backbone of the Public Sector’s digital operations. These networks ensure secure, reliable, and high-quality communication for Public Administration entities and critical infrastructures.
The General Secretariat of Telecommunications and Post formulates policy for telecommunications and network infrastructures and deploys and operates modern electronic communication networks for the Public Sector.

At the same time, the SYZEFXIS II project is the largest telecommunications initiative for the Greek Public Sector, aiming to unify and upgrade communication services across the entire Public Administration. Through this network, more than 34,000 public sector buildings are connected, providing advanced voice, data, and teleconferencing services with speeds reaching up to 1Gbps. The project incorporates modern security solutions such as VPN, Firewall, IPS, and Antivirus, ensuring the protection of communications and data.
